A Wedding for Royalty

A Wedding for Royalty

“It is such a happiness when good people get together - and they always do.”
Jane Austen

Summer is such a wonderful time for weddings! Though it may be hot and humid, there is something incredibly special about the lush beauty of creation surrounding a couple entering into the marital covenant. Back in June, we had the joy of hosting the ceremony and reception of Dalila and Torreco. Their precious moment was shared in the presence of loved ones - truly making the ceremony an intimate exchange.

Dalila and Torreco truly looked like royalty as they glowed with their shared love for one another. We pray that you both will continue to grow in your love and affection for each other as the Lord shines His grace upon you.

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life."
Psalm 143:8

When the Lord brings two people together in marriage, we absolutely love playing our part in their wedding! Recently we had the great joy of decorating and catering the wedding of Alex & Daniel! Their style was elegant and rustic with bright pops of red: utilizing natural woods with luxuriously vibrant floral arrangements. Adding to the festivities was a delicious and refreshing meal that left attendees full and satisfied. These wonderful guests knew how to truly celebrate with the bride and groom!

We fully believe the joy of marriage is not just experienced on the first day, but every day following. We pray the grace of God to fill your home with clear and beautiful reminders of His great love. May your love grow for each other as you trust in the Lord.

Eleanor's First BEE-Day

Eleanor's First BEE-Day

"Every birthday is a gift. Every day is a gift."
Aretha Franklin

We absolutely cherish the moments that are shared here in our beautiful house, and how wonderful it is to celebrate the life of a child! We recently had the joy of hosting sweet Eleanor's first birthday. The room was filled with the love of family, adorable bee themed decorations and some delectable delights! With wonderful pops of yellow and white, our floral designer, Melissa Senn,  gorgeously arranged daisies for the table settings while incorporating little bees. The meal was kept light yet flavorful and the cake was so pretty you couldn't decide whether to adore it or eat it. It was truly a special and sweet day!

Life is beautiful and should be celebrated every day... and most definitely on your birthday. Happy BEE Day little Eleanor! May God richly bless you and keep you.

"Oh home, let me come home. Home is whenever I'm with you."
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes

We recently had the incredible honor of hosting the reception for Whitten and Kailey! Their style was incredibly classy with a vintage flair. Dressing their tables were elegantly iridescent place settings complemented by lush greenery. In addition, they utilized our extended venue, The Greenhouse of Jonesboro, adding another layer of refinement to their already gorgeous event.

Whitten and Kailey, we pray the Lord bless you tremendously and may His grace fill this first year and beyond.

Local photographer Mariah Walker captured the ceremony and reception beautifully and graciously has provided a sample of her work! Make sure to contact her to see how she can capture your event!

What Makes Christmas Special?

What Makes Christmas Special?

"I remember how it felt to be a child. This old house still feels the same. All of the family will be here in just a while. I hope Daddy gets here first to build a fire, he's the only one who has that special touch. Then my sister with her kids and my grandma who I love so very much. Oh I'm glad we'll be together on this evening in December."
An Evening in December
by First Call

We here at Magnolia love celebrating during the Christmas season. It goes without saying that there are a plethora of reasons that make it extra special. Here are a few of our favorite things about this glorious holiday season:

1. The Decorations: The trees, the wreaths, the lights… everything! We love being able to deck the halls with all of the holly we can get our hands on. Our amazing in-house florist decorated nearly all corners of our beautiful home and her work is exquisite.

2. The Sounds: The music of Christmas is absolutely captivating. Whether it’s the sacred songs that point to the Savior or the traditional seasonal songs that remind you of childhood memories, music plays such a major part in the holiday season. If you haven’t already checked it out, take a listen to our Spotify playlist: Christmas with Magnolia. It’s sure to have you sing along with holiday cheer.

3. The Food: Baked goods, chocolate, apple cider, soups, roasts, the list could go on and on. The delicious food that makes up a Christmas feast will leave everyone recalling the meal for years to come. And of course, no Christmas meal would be complete without a roast beast. ;)

4. Traditions: Annual events with family and friends make those evenings in December so sweet. Whether it’s attending local Christmas concerts and parades or theatrical performances, these special occasions not only help build memories to share but also spread Christmas cheer in the community.

More than anything we love that this season is at the core, all about Jesus!

IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

We love being able to glorify God with believers all around the world as we celebrate the birth of Christ, worshiping our great Emmanuel, our God with us. This year, in the midst of all of the good things, remember the greatest thing – the gift of Jesus.

We pray that your Christmas is one to remember for years to come. May the God of all grace bless you with the gift of His son.

Merry Christmas everyone!

A Good Day to Turn 60!

A Good Day to Turn 60!

"You can't help getting older, but you don't have to get old."
George Burns

Birthdays are some of the greatest celebrations we as human beings get to have. One day a year to celebrate the life of a man or woman! We recently had the chance to celebrate the 60 years young birthday of Mr. Bill. His birthday was one for the books! His style was full of sophisticated class with a whole lot of fun! Accents of red, white, black, and gold were balanced out with the nostalgic glimmer of candy wrappers. His luxurious meal featured filet mignon, haricot verts, and shrimp cocktails, accompanied by an Italian soda bar and a glitzy candy bar! No one could leave without their sweet tooth being satisfied.

Whenever friends and family gather to honor the living legacy of the someone they love it should always remind us of how God has blessed us with this wonderful life. It also should remind us to make every day count! Mr. Bill, you are loved and cherished deeply. We hope that year 60 holds some of the greatest moments that your life has ever known!

Masquerade! A Jonesboro Gala

Masquerade! A Jonesboro Gala

"Masquerade!
Burning glances, turning heads
Masquerade!
Stop and stare at the sea of smiles around you!"

Phantom of the Opera

If you didn't know... we love our city! Jonesboro is a beautiful gem that is pursuing greatness with every day that goes by. A little over a week ago we hosted an incredible Masquerade Gala on behalf of the Jonesboro Main Street Advisory Board. It might possibly be one of our greatest events yet!

The settings were gorgeous displays of silver, gold and black with elements of a traditional masquerade scattered throughout. Our beloved chefs created an exquisite meal that left everyone speechless. Chef Andre pulled out all of the stops with perfect filet mignon and a show stealing teriyaki glazed salmon.

This spectacular evening was topped off with two amazing performances by students from the local Martha Ellen Stilwell School of the Arts and The Atlanta Seventeen; these mind-blowing musicians were the talk of the night. We were able to convert our pavilion into the perfect stage for the ensemble and their smooth jazz vibes filled our evening with joy. Not only are these fine folks, who make up The Atlanta Seventeen, incredibly talented but are also tremendously generous as their profits go right back into other charities. We love partnering with talented people - but even more so with those who let their gifts be a blessing to others.

We seriously cannot wait to see what the future holds for our beautiful city. We love you Jonesboro!

A Wedding Brunch

A Wedding Brunch

"Now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before."
C.S. Lewis

Brunch is always a good idea, but add a wedding to it and you have one incredible way to spend the day! We recently hosted a midday wedding for Loyd and Danielle, a lovely couple with a beautiful story. Their dream wedding included a presentation of warm and welcoming reds with accents of Burberry. The ceremony was kept inviting and sweet while maintaining a strong sense of intimacy. Following the ceremony the guests were able to enjoy a delicious spread of classic brunch delicacies that were absolutely beautiful. This was such a sweet couple to work with as their love for each other and their families was the centerpiece of this sacred moment.

We're so excited for you Loyd and Danielle! We pray that the Lord would bless you and give your marriage strength and joy for all that life has. May your marriage be full of adventure and many many more brunches.

For All You Do For Others

For All You Do For Others

Let a wise person listen and increase learning,
and let a discerning person obtain guidance.

Proverbs 1:5

Isn't it amazing when you get the chance to meet people that make a difference? Isn't it also amazing when the difference is made in your life personally? Just a short time ago we had the pleasure of hosting a "thank you" event for some of the Winshape Foundation's marriage counselors. These amazing couples take time to invest into the marriages of people needing guidance. Being a marriage counselor not only takes a wealth of wisdom, but an incredible amount of patience. Wading through the storms of life is difficult, and at times feels impossible, but when someone is willing to venture into that struggle alongside of you... it changes everything.

This was an opportunity to truly bless some amazing people... so we did! Their intimate event utilized both our indoor and outdoor facilities, which was perfect for a late-summer's evening. The meal featured elegant salmon and filet mignon accompanied with dauphinoise potatoes and haricot verts wrapped in bacon, making for an absolutely delicious meal! Dessert featured mini treats alongside two sumptuous cakes. Everyone's appetite was filled and their souls refreshed.

If someone has ever helped you in a time of need, you know how much it means to show them how thankful you are. For these amazing people, we hope we showed them how much of a difference they make.

Marilyn + Charles

“The longing in a single person’s heart for a wife or a husband finds its root in God’s glory.”
Matt Chandler

We were so honored to recently host the wedding of Marilyn and Charles. Their love for each other was so sincerely displayed as they exchanged their vows and everyone had an incredible time. The gathering of family and friends to witness and celebrate this amazing event made this one of the most fun weddings! The rustic setting details gave the wedding a subtle country meets Americana flair while making Marilyn and Charles the centerpiece of the day. Our chefs prepared a lovely flavorful meal that left all appetites, big and small, fulfilled. One thing was for sure - these wonderful people knew how to celebrate!

Marilyn and Charles, we hope and pray that God will bless your marriage and that you would spend many many years together.

Lately we've experienced some wonderful glimpses of cool weather with the approach of the Autumn season. Changes of the leaves, scarves, baked goods, and pumpkin spiced lattes are starting to become desired deep down in the souls of the Summer weary Southerner. As we begin this September, we are looking forward to the crisp Fall breeze and seasonal aromas to fill the streets of our beautiful little town. Not only that, but outdoor events tend to be absolutely stunning for our guests.
